PARIS

Weeee!
Ahhh....Paris. I am not sure what it is about this city, but it was MAGICAL.:) Maybe it is the countless sights, the infamous landmarks, the shopping, the beautiful people strutting around casually in the fashion capitol of the world, the art on every corner, the romance buzzing around in the air, the pastries, or a combination of all of the above...but I think I have fallen in love.

See? MAGICAL:)
We spent four full days in Paris and there is still so much that we didn't see. We made sure to leave plenty of time to relax and indulge in numerous pastries, nutella and banana crepes, and mulled wine (priorities, priorities...there seems to be a consumption trend going on in our travels;)). We checked the necessary items off our list (i.e. Eiffel Tower (duh), Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur Basilica, the Louvre, the Luxembourg gardens/palace, the Opera House, and a ton of unknown but surely really important cathedrals and churches along the way). We went to the top of Notre Dame and saw gorgeous views of the city and the infamous bell tower (is it bad that much of my knowledge of this gothic cathedral stems from the Disney movie? Go figure. I kept having flashbacks of Quasimodo swinging from the bell in the Hunchback of Notre Dame) which made the wait totally worth it. I have to say, even though cathedrals, basilicas, and churches all tend to blend together for me, I had a little moment in both the Sacre Coeur and Notre Dame and couldn't help but stand there staring in wonder with my mouth open like a child at the extremely intricate and ridiculously high arched ceilings that were constructed solely by hand. HOW.?! I will never understand.
In front of the Sacre Coeur Basilica:)
Despite the fact that we actually went up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and saw the gorgeous city lights, my favorite part of the trip was simply seeing the Eiffel Tower from afar at night. It was beautiful, mesmerizing, and surreal to say the least! I have decided that there is no single reason that Paris is so magical, it just IS!! I would live there in a heartbeat...maybe I should learn more than two words of the language first? Meh...overrated.;)

Au revoir!~
